- Description: Camp Director, Jo Nelson, says, "Horton Hill Day Camp will be all about camping and enjoying everything the staff and the outdoors has to offer!" On our 49 acre wooded site girls will work on the Trail Adventure Badge for their age level as well as many outdoor skills of their choosing. Do you want to learn how to make a fire and cook a one pot meal or a s'more? Or practice jack knife safety and skills by cutting a snack of apple slices or carrot sticks or carving your own walking stick? Want to learn how to pitch a tent, tie the right knot or practice some basic first aid? All of those things plus arts and crafts, lunch time special activities, opening and closing flag ceremonies and more will be offered by our Program Director, Ro Woodard, and her outstanding staff. Our Leadership Campers will plan a Retired Flag Burning ceremony, all of our campers will help to screen print their own Day Camp T-shirt at no cost and all of our campers will work on a 1970s "Rambler" legacy badge featuring our own staff-written badge requirements.
